Helen McGinnis

Helen F. “Judy” McGinnis, 85, of Lima, Ohio, formerly of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009, at her daughter’s residence in Lima, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 23, 1923, in Newark, Ohio, to the late George M. and Mary (Oakleaf) Ditter. On January 9, 1944, she married Robert L. McGinnis in Norfolk, Virginia, and he preceded her in death April 20, 1989. She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caitlyn Luree Harris and a grandson, Bobby McGinnis.

Surviving is a son, Michael L. (Nancy) McGinnis of Bellefontaine, and a daughter, Linda L. Harris of Lima; and one granddaughter, Taylor Harris.

In October 1987, she retired from the F.W. Uhlman Co. and later worked part time as a sales associate for Uhlmans and Stage Stores.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine and the Pleiades Chapter #298 of Eastern Star in Sidney, Ohio. She graduated from Marion Harding High School and attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where she was affiliated with Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Calling hours will be Thursday evening, January 15, 2009, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.

Rev. Rob Fulton will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 16, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Interment will be in the Chapel Heights Cemetery in Marion, Ohio.
