Helen Parker

Helen Elizabeth Parker, age 90, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening, July30, 2014 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.

She was born in Russells Point, Ohio November 13, 1923, to the late William H. and Edna C. (Collins) Funk.

On October 23, 1949, she married Lester C. Parker Jr. in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death October 21, 1983. Helen was also preceded in death by her brother William “Bill” Funk, and sisters Dorothy Funk and Wilda Hill.

Helen is survived by her sister-in-law Francy Funk of Bellefontaine; nieces and nephews, Cynthia (Jeff) Moyer of Bellefontaine, Rebecca (Rick) Nelson of West Liberty, Susan (Mike) Gleason of Bellefontaine, Richard (Joyce) Funk of West Liberty, Keith Hill of DeGraff, Ohio and Larry (Jean) Hill of Cincinnati, Ohio; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and many family members of her late husband Lester.

Helen was 1941 graduate of DeGraff High School and also graduated from Moores Business School. With her husband Lester, they ran Parker’s Cut-Rate during the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s in Bellefontaine.

Helen was a member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine where she taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of the church choir, Missionary Board, Christian Women’s Club and the Women of the Church of God.

Pastor Ron Irick will conduct the funeral service Monday, August 4, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
