Helen M. Ransbottom, 99, of West Liberty, passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Green Hills Assisted Living in West Liberty. She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on January 21, 1919 to the late Charles Wilbur and Vada (Elzey) Stout.
On March 7, 1937 Helen married William Ransbottom in Logan County, Ohio and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Miller; a son, Terry Lee Ransbottom; a grandson, Jeffery Warye; two great grandchildren; and four brothers, Jim, Bob, Kenny, and Harold Stout.
Helen is survived by her daughter Shirley (Howard) Warye; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Ransbottom; a son-in-law, Doug Miller; eight grandchildren, Teresa (Yuzo) Suzuki, Tammy (Terry) Ramby, Todd Ransbottom, Toni Alty, Trisha Marous, Debbie (Felix) Buccellato, Greg (Connie) Miller, and Rick (Pellar) Miller; 23 great grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Stout; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, Helen had worked as a personnel director at JC Penney in Lima for 9 years. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed playing cards.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road in West Liberty. Pastor Lee Ortman will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
