Hermenia “Hermie” Sherman, 95, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and formerly of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born on February 26, 1914 in Napoleon to the late Herman and Katherine (Haase) Hahn.
Hermie married William E. Sherman on August 12, 1942 in Napoleon, and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1999. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Otto Hahn, and a sister, Margaret Fahy.
She is survived by her son, William G. Sherman of Grants Pass, Oregon, and a sister, Julia E. Heitman of Delaware, Ohio.
A retired beautician, Hermie was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2009, at the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine, with Pastor Jonathon D. Bull officiating. Burial will follow the memorial service at 3:00 P.M. in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Napoleon, Ohio.
