Hilda Lucille Comer, 93, of Zanesfield, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 12, 2008, in her home.
She was born September 30, 1914, a daughter of the late Paul W. and Ruby L. (Antrim) Thompson. She married Ernest F. Comer on September 4, 1945, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1994. Her brothers, Max “Bud” Thompson, Fred Thompson and Jack Thompson preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Scott) Stewart of Bellefontaine, Ohio; a son, Ronald (Connie) Comer of Nashville, Tennessee; a sister, Mrs. C.M. (Alice) Berry of Bellefontaine; a brother-in-law, Jack Comer of DeGraff, Ohio; six grandchildren, Lance (Pam) Robson, Ross (Sheri) Robson, Natalie Comer, Emily (Kraig) Hoffman, Stephanie Smith and Chuck Wrobel; 10 great-grandchildren, Catherine and Stuart Elizabeth Smith, Reilly and Nolan Robson, Josh Levingston, Kacie Robson, Drew and Matthew Hoffman, Jordan Horn and Camron Bensman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the oldest resident of Zanesfield at the time of her death. She spent most of her adult life caring for her home and family. Each day she would visit with friends who would stop in or call on the telephone and she made a point to keep up on daily events.
She was most noted for her extremely great memory and was called upon many occasions for a date, time or place. She also had a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed.
Pastor Fred Kensler will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2008, in the Zanesfield Cemetery.
