Howard D. Herring

Howard D. “Bud” Herring, age 84, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 25, 2014 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Howard was born December 8, 1929 in Belle Center, to the late Kenneth Dane Herring and Lois I. (Scullin) Herring McCrary. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother.

Howard married the former Rebecca Lou Connor May 12, 1951 in Belle Center, and she survives in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by his children, Debbie (Rex) Reames, David “Rusty” Herring and Patricia Herring, all of Belle Center; two grandchildren, Katie (Anthony) Elsasser and Luke (Betsy) Reames; two great-grandchildren, Garbriel Lex Elsasser and Liam Jude Elsasser; a sister, Judy Lovett of Lima, Ohio; a brother, James (Judie) Herring of Bellefontaine; nephews Derek Herring of Columbus, Ohio, Bruce Nemire of Columbus Grove, Ohio, Drew Connor of Florida and Neal Connor of Maryland and nieces Monica Daniels and Mandy Pratt, both of Columbus.

Howard was a lifelong farmer and retired from Carter Steel where he worked as a Plant Supervisor. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. Pastor Kevin Smith of the Belle Center United Methodist Church, will officiate the funeral service Thursday, May 29, 2014, at 10 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
