Howard Weldon Mosbarger, 84, of Urbana, went Home to be with the Lord at 9:55 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Champaign County, Ohio on February 16, 1931 to the late Ollie Earl and Ota I. (Humble) Mosbarger. He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Irene Bailey, Dorothy Cox, Margaret Mosbarger, Hazel White and Martha Marmon; and three brothers, Donald, George and James Mosbarger.
On April 2, 1951 Howard married the former Eileen Birt in Richmond, Indiana, and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Janet (Mark) Young of West Liberty; three sons, Ronald (Barb Bayless) Mosbarger of Troy, Gregory (Gail) Mosbarger of Oxford, Alabama and Douglas (Margie) Mosbarger of St. Paris; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Garnet (Fred) Roesel of Lafayette, Indiana; a brother, David (Diane) Mosbarger of Bellefontaine; a sister-in-law, Marcia Mosbarger of Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews.
A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, Howard had worked for 16 years with Humble Construction and was self-employed for 29 years. He was a member of the First Church of God in West Liberty and enjoyed bowling, traveling and camping.
Pastor Ron Irick will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the First Church of God, 315 Liberty Street, West Liberty. Visitation will be Thursday, April 23rd from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty with military rites provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
