Irene Bourgeois

Irene C. Bourgeois, 83, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.

She was born May 16, 1930, in Joplin, Missouri to the late Orville and Merle (Trenary) Cale. On May 16, 1948, she married DeWayne Leon “Bud” Bourgeois in Grove, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death October 4, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Jean Odom, Dorothy Kolkmeyer and Leonard Cale.

Surviving are her children, Susan (Steve) May of DeGraff, Ohio and DeAnn (Harry Reinhart) Bonelli of Columbus, Ohio, and a grandson, Christopher May of Tiffin, Ohio.

Irene worked at the Logan County District Library in Bellefontaine. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine and was a volunteer for Warm Clothes for Kids. She enjoyed reading, swimming, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family.

An 11:00 A.M. graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the Harrod Cemetery near Huntsville, Ohio with Rev. William Zeller officiating.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 3797 Summit Glen Dr. Suite G Dayton, OH 45449 and the Logan County District Libraries 220 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, OH 43311

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine handled the arrangements for the family.
