Jack Bishop

Biography

Jack O. Bishop, 81, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Wednesday afternoon November 28, 2012 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born in Middleburg, Ohio April 22, 1931, to the late Glenn and Carrie Mae Grant Bishop.

He married the former Glenna Jean Moore June 4, 1952 in Urbana, Ohio, and she preceded him in death June 10, 1998. Jack was also preceded in death by his brothers Barney, Cy, Howard and Jim Bishop.

Jack is survived by his children: David L. (Martha) Bishop of Urbana, Patty A. (Ray) Freisthler of DeGraff, Ohio, Debra Kay Saxton of West Liberty, Karen Sue Strayer of West Liberty, Kathy Jo (Ben) Gantz of West Liberty; grandchildren, Tony Wilson, Jeremy Bishop, LeAnne Howard, Andy Saxton, Amber Saxton, Pamela Rowe, Jesse Strayer, Beth Ropp, Ashley Gantz, Bryan Gantz, Hannah Gantz and Lucy Gantz; great-grandchildren, Jennah Wilson, Kylie Ropp, Talon Strayer, Gage Ropp, Wyatt Saxton and Mallory Bishop; a brother, Bob (Donna) Bishop of Indian Lake, Ohio; a sister, Kathryn Miller of West Mansfield, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack worked as a gas station attendant at Sohio and then spent many years with Cardinal Vending Services/AVI where he was a “Jack of all trades”, retiring in the mid-1990’s. He enjoyed his draft horses and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Sunday, December 2, 2012, from 2 to 5 P.M. Interment will be at the Middleburg Cemetery in Middleburg, Ohio.
