Jack E. Hole, 60, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his home. He was born June 6, 1951 in Piqua, Ohio, a son of the late Hiram and Miriam (Lacy) Hole. Also preceding him in death was a step-son, Ken Plank Sr.
On April 21, 1990, in West Liberty, Ohio he married the former Nancy Carter and she survives along with sons, Scott (Heather) Hole of Piqua, Ohio, Jason Hole of Columbus, Ohio; a step-son, Gy. Sgt. Chris Plank of Cherry Point, North Carolina; sisters, Carol (Michael) Schaffer of Covington, Ohio and Marla (Michael) Schaefer of Piqua, and grandchildren, Jessica, Kayla, Brandon and Tommy Hole and Ken Plank Jr., Skylah and Baylie Plank.
He was a Unites States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served for three years and two months and one year in remote Turkey.
He lived in this area since 1990, coming from the Piqua area where he owned several businesses including, Have-A Bar Ice Cream in Piqua. He was the owner and operator of Digital Jacks Mobile DJ Service for thirteen years, based out of Logan County. He loved animals, cooking and was known for his Sloppy Jack Sandwiches and turkey salad. Jack loved spending time with family and friends and playing cards or just talking. A music trivia buff, he never met a stranger and loved to travel, taking many trips with his family.
He worked at the Howard Paper Mill for eighteen years in Urbana, Ohio, and was a member of the Harold Kerr Post #173 American Legion in Bellefontaine and the AMVETS.
Pastor Jonathan Bull will conduct the funeral service at 11 A.M. Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty, Ohio, where calling hours are Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, with military rites by the Logan County Honor Guard.
