Jack Clinton Willeke, 40, of St. Mary’s, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born February 29, 1972 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Wayne E. Willeke and Lillian Mary (Thaxton) Willeke, who survives in Bellefontaine. Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Pauline and Carlton Willeke, Mary Ellen and Wendell Everett Thaxton, and his step-grandmother, Doris Thaxton.
On December 30, 2000, he married Kendra Grimm in New Bremen, Ohio and she survives. Also surviving are 2 step-sons, Eric Enriquez and Danny Williams and a step-daughter, Alyssa Williams all of St. Mary‘s; a brother, David “Joe” (Tami) Willeke of Belle Center, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, Jazmine and Alexander Enriquez, both of St. Mary’s; 2 nieces, Misty Dawn Kapp and Rachael Jo Willeke, and a nephew, Casey Joe Willeke, all of Belle Center, and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.
A 1990 graduate of Indian Lake High School, he worked at the Transportation Research Center in East Liberty, Ohio. From 1995 to 1999 he served in the Unites States Navy on the John C. Stennis, CVN 74. Jack had earned his Associates Degree in Electronics and was a lifetime member of the Lakeview AmVets #39. He loved The Ohio State University Buckeyes, the Chicago Bears and his cats. On February 21, 2006, he was the recipient of a heart transplant.
Calling hours are Friday, March 30, 2012, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center where Pastor Eric Cook will officiate the 10:30 A.M. funeral service Saturday, March 31, 2012. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center, with Military Honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the family, c/o the Eichholtz Funeral Home.
