James Collins

James Leonard Collins, 71, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 27, 1938 in Logan County, to the late James Liggitt and Della Pearl (Sine) Collins.

He is survived by a son, Larry Gene Collins of Tallapoosa, Georgia; daughters, Beverly Ann (Lance) Houchin of Belle Center, Ohio, and Jo Ann Collins of Bellefontaine; a brother, Darrell (Carolyn) Collins of Bellefontaine; mother of his children, Mary Jo Collins of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Heidi (Chris) Baker of Bellefontaine, Jamie Houchin of Hilliard, Ohio, and Derek Houchin of Belle Center. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin and Herbert Collins.

Jim retired after thirty years of service from Rockwell International and later worked for Scioto Industries in Marysville, Ohio.

A 1957 Bellefontaine High School graduate, he was a member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine where he taught Sunday school and was an usher. He was also a Cub Scout leader, a member of the YMCA and enjoyed bowling and playing volleyball.

Pastor Ron Irick will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 24, 2010, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery at a later date in Huntsville, Ohio.
