James Lile

James Richard Lile, 83, of Bellefontaine, Ohio and formerly of West Liberty, Ohio passed away Thursday evening, January 16, 2014 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

He was born in Bellefontaine June 27, 1930, to the late Frank V. and Abbie R. (Hayes) Lile. Jim was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Lile; a sister, Phyllis Guthrie; a sister-in-law, Shirley Lile; a grandson, Eric Lile, and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Anthony James Legge.

Jim is survived by his children, Richard (Rosalie) Lile of Centerville, Ohio, Jimmy (Elizabeth) Lile of Denver, Colorado, Mick (Roni) Lile of Bellefontaine, Phyllis (Steve) Smith of Bellefontaine, Tim (Staci) Lile of Centerville and Amanda (Darrin) Howard of Urbana, Ohio; many grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Levi (Nancy) Lile of Bellefontaine; a sister, Katherine Hartzler of West Liberty, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim had been an auctioneer for sixty plus years in the family business, Logan Auction following his father. He currently has two sons and a son-in-law in the business. He also worked thirty years at Navistar in Springfield, Ohio before retiring in the mid-1990s.

Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Tuesday, January 21, 2014, from 4 to 8 P.M. where the funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Jonathan Bull officiating. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
