James Lowell Miranda, 82, of Bellefontaine passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Bellefontaine on November 5, 1933 to the late George N. and Ica M. (Wilson) Miranda. Jim married the former Darleen M. Jenkins on June 8, 1963 in Indiana and she preceded him in death on May 29, 2002. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Evelyn Brown, Bessie Seabert and Edna Miranda; seven brothers: Elwood, George T., Russell, Ray, Ralph, Milton and Harrison Miranda.
Jim was a veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He worked forty-four years at National Extrusion Manufacturing and was a former UAW President. Jim had been a member of the VFW and AmVets. He enjoyed collecting model cars and loved to fish and spend time with his grandkids.
Jim is survived by his children: Timothy L. Miranda of Bellefontaine, Polly A. (Kevin) Parker of Rushsylvania, Stacey L. Burrows of Bellefontaine and Amy L. Wright of DeGraff; twelve grandchildren: Kotey, Ashley, Josh, Chance, Sara, Alex, Emily, Andrew, Sydney, Kolten, Ethan and Caleb; one great-grandchild is on the way; son-in-laws Brian Wright of DeGraff and Carl Burrows of Bellefontaine; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 4-7pm. Pastor Franklin James will officiate the funeral service on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Honor Guard.
