James P. Roth, 72, of Quincy, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born February 28, 1941 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, a son of the late Benjamin Sr. and Anna Roth.
On May 26, 1962 in Pickerelltown, Ohio, he married the former Sally Jane Blair, and she preceded him in death July 13, 1987.
He is survived by his children, David (Gina) Roth of Bellefontaine, Annette Roth of Sidney, Ohio, and Beverly Roth of Quincy; grandchildren, Sally Roth, Dakota Yoest, Ashley Roth, Michael Gudger, Amber Roth and Faith Ann Roth; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Roth of Findlay, Ohio; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and a special friend, Shirley Slicer of Quincy.
He was a factory worker at Merchants Industries in Bellefontaine for twenty six years and at NEX for nine years. He also worked part-time maintaining the road side rest area on St. Rt. 33. James was a member of the Buckeye Gospel Barn where he was a board member for several years and was known as “Rawhide”. He enjoyed antique cars and car shows.
Pastor Bobbi Allen will officiate a graveside service Monday, April 8, 2013 at 10 A.M. at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Champaign County. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
