James Henry Rumer, Sr., 77, of Bellefontaine passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015.
Jim was born in Bellefontaine on December 6, 1937 to the late Carl Rumer and Mary Eugene (Gibbens) Rumer Kauffman. He married the love of his life, Lillian May Cavinder on June 30, 1961 in Bellefontaine and she preceded him in death on August 27, 1990. He was also preceded in death by a grandson Chuckie Davy, brothers Carl and John Rumer, sister Lea Rumer, numerous in-laws and special friends Charlie and Janice Moore, Sonny Nevers and Tim McClain, Sr.
Jim is survived by his son Jim (Toni) Rumer; daughters, Pam Davy, Teresa Rumer and Amanda (Jason) Warner; grandchildren: Kyle (Davianna) Rumer, Chris Davy, Nicholas (Chelsea) Rumer, Jayce Warner, Karlie and Kateline Mathews, Jessica Robinson, Breann and Blaze Trout; great-grandkids: Ian, Maci and Arianna Rumer, Lexi, Lathan and Leah Snyder, Desiree, Braydon and Jaycob Robinson; sister Brenda Dill, sisters-in-law MaryAnn Rumer, Judy Briley, Phylis Ballou, Alberta Kennaw; brother-in-law Ron (Karen) Cavinder; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend Melvin (Alice) Shields and brother at heart and best friend Danny (Cookie) German.
Jim graduated from Bellefontaine High School - Class of 1957. He worked at DAB as a press operator for 42 years and also worked at the Indian Lake Rollerena for 15 years. He loved to skate, fish and play cards. Every Saturday and Sunday morning, Jim would go with Danny for breakfast at Waffle House. Jim loved every minute he had with his family, at the end it was making his way to see his great-grandkids who stole his heart.
Pastor Floyd Lundy will officiate the funeral service on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 2pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine where visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 4-7pm. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
