James Salyer

James H. Salyer, 73, of Cable, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

He was born on November 5, 1942 in Paintsville, KY to the late Normal Sr. and Hazel (Rigsby) Salyer. He is also preceded in death by twin sons, James H. and Samuel T. and his siblings, Thomas, Joyce, Normal Jr. and Raymond.

On February 2, 1980 he married the former Shirley Blair in West Liberty and she survives along with their children, Loren E. (Lisa) Salyer of Cable, Pamela A. (Jeff) Stillings of West Liberty and Adam B. (Ashley) Salyer of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren, Lance Salyer of North Lewisburg, Lindsey Salyer of Cable, Kannon and Aubrie Stillings of West Liberty and Addison, Ashlyn and Aspen Salyer of Bellefontaine; one great grandchild, Zane Salyer; his siblings, Dorthy, Donald, Janet, Mary, Roy Roger and Hazel; and many nieces and nephews.

James worked at Drackett Company in Urbana for 24 years. A member of the Spirit of Life Church in Piqua, James enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, fishing and antiquing with his wife. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Pastor Kenny Van Hoose will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Rd., West Liberty where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
