James Samples

James R. Samples, 73, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died Friday, November 21, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Bellefontaine on February 21, 1935, a son of the late John Robert and Dorothy Eileen Berry Samples. Survivors include two sons, James Brian (Sandra Kay) Samples of Bellefontaine and Brent (Lori) Samples of West Liberty, Ohio; three grandchildren, Joshua, Michael and Christine Samples; and three step-grandchildren, Cory, Lindsay and Miranda.

A U.S. Army veteran, his first job was for the NYC Railroad and then he was an auto painter for Miller Meteor. He retired from Wayne Corporation in 1978. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

A graveside service will be conducted at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center, Ohio, where the Logan County Honor Guard preforms military rites.
