Jane Stewart

Jane E. Stewart, 76, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Zanesfield, Ohio November 24, 1936, to the late Ernest and Helen Theresa (Quinn) VanVoorhis.

On April 7, 1953, she married Donald Max Stewart in Liberty, Indiana and he preceded her in death April 25, 2011. Jane was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Max Stewart, Jr. in 2006, a sister, Alice McGlone, and a brother, Thomas VanVoorhis.

Jane is survived by her children, Robert Allen (Belinda) Stewart of Catawba, Ohio, Jeffrey Guy Stewart of Urbana, Ohio, Krista Brugler of West Liberty, Jeannie (Scott) House of Marysville, Ohio and Tina Ferner of West Liberty; six grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; five sisters, Suzi Baringer of Columbus, Ohio, Vikki (Oscar) Alderman of Hillard, Ohio, Lois Rushworth of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Penny Evans of Fairborn, Ohio and Mary Carrino of Illinois; four brothers, Dave (Dorothy) VanVoorhis of Logan, Ohio, Bud (Susan) VanVoorhis of Big Springs, Ohio, George VanVoorhis of Florida and Tim VanVoorhis of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane was a member of the Pilgrim Fellowship Hall and loved spending time with her dog “Lady.” She worked 20 plus years at the Liberty Gathering Place in West Liberty as a prep cook.

A graveside service will be held at the Zanesfield Cemetery Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Marshall Pierson officiating.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty assisted the family with the arrangements.
