Jane Younkman

Biography

Jane Mikesell Younkman, 75, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. Jane was born in West Liberty January 13, 1936, to the late Dr. Hobart and Helene Foust Mikesell. On June 7, 1958 she married David A. Younkman in West Liberty.

Jane is survived by her husband David A. Younkman of West Liberty; sons Derek (Jane Riggs) Younkman of Bellefontaine, Ohio and Jon (Kamila) Younkman of Verona, Wisconsin; 4 granddaughters: Brittany, Bethany, Alyson and Amanda Younkman; and a sister Lydia Backart of San Diego, California.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Jane was a former teacher in the Columbus City Schools, and the fomer owner of the Pioneer House. She enjoyed playing bridge, collecting antiques and painting. Jane was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church.

The funeral service will be held at the West Liberty United Methodist Church Monday, November 14, 2011 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Lee Ortman and Rev. Grayson Atha officiating. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 2 to 6 P.M. at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral in West Liberty. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
