Janis Barrett

Janis Marie Barrett, age 74, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday evening, April 8, 2014 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.

She was born in Pomeroy, Ohio March 13, 1940, to the late Alfred and Lily (Landecker) Deck. She was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Goins; step-sons, Richard and Gillan Goins, and a sister, Joan Rathjen.

Janis is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Duane) Ritter of Bellefontaine and Debbie (Dennis) Brunke of Huntsville, Ohio; a step-son, Glen Goins of Athens, Ohio; a step-daughter, Glenetta Goins of Chauncey, Ohio; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters Ada (John) Knapp of Columbus, Ohio and Rosie (John) Ash of West Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.

Janis was a homemaker and a member of Christ Temple Church in Bellefontaine. She enjoyed shopping for her grandchildren, crocheting, painting, working crossword puzzles, spending time with and going to church with her dear friend Lori Cowan.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Christ Temple Church with Pastor Kenner officiating.

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
