Jaunetta Carol Buchenroth, 83, formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday afternoon, March 10, 2023, at Green Hills Inn, West Liberty.
Carol was born in Bellefontaine on March 3, 1940, to the late James Raymond and Iva Jaunetta (Winegardner) Smith.
Carol married William Ray Buchenroth on September 12, 1965, in Bellefontaine, and he survives in West Liberty. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Glenn Achtermann; and nephews: Bob (Faith) Achtermann, Tracey (Julie Crawford) Achtermann; and niece Tonya (Greg Henak) Kindle, all of Bucyrus.
Carol worked for the United Telephone Company for 7 years, then went to work as the financial secretary for Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church for 17 years. She then worked another 10 years at Mary Rutan Hospital, where she had been President of the Hospital Guild. Carol was a member of Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, Kings Daughters & Sons, and was a Past-President of the United Methodist Women and had also held district office. She liked to read, often helped with meals at the church, and enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach.
Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate Carol’s funeral on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 12 noon at the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, 201 North Main St. Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, 201 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, OH 43311; or to Universal Home Health Hospice, 921 Rush Ave. Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
