Jean L. Burton

Jean L. (Ward) Burton, age 78, of Bellefontaine, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wedensday, January 26, 2022 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born in Logan County Ohio September 21, 1943, to the late Harlan Monroe and Dorothy Louise (Kafader) Ward. Jean married George W. "Bill" Burton September 21, 1962, and he preceded her in death in 2009.

Jean is survived by two sons: John (Joni) Burton of Rushsylvania, Ohio and Joe (Tracey) Burton of Bellefontaine; grandchildren: Andrea (Kevin) Adamsky, Bethany (Andy) Luciano, Nicole, Nicolas, and Sydney Burton, Kylee Smith, and Nathaniel Mundy; great grandchildren: Holden, Mia, and Livia; two sisters: Barbara (Stephen) Judy of Anaheim Hill, California and Kimberly (Dick) Collum of Bellefontaine; a brother, James M. (Deb) Ward of Bellefontaine; her grand dogs and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Jean worked as a secretary for Bellefontaine City Schools for many years. She enjoyed watching game shows, and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnatti Reds and NASCAR. She liked to cook and spend time with her family and friends. Her grandkids were the light of her life.

Reverend Ed Shady will officiate the funeral service Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in Degraff, Ohio.
