Jean Forsythe

Jean Sheeley Forsythe, age 81, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Sunday evening, November 24, 2019, at Belle Springs Nursing & Rehab in Bellefontaine.

She was born in West Liberty, Ohio May 12, 1938, to the late Charles Earl and Mary Katherine “Peaches” (Marker) Sheeley.

The oldest of four children, Jean is survived by her sisters, Mary Kay (Laverne) Steinberger, Linda Lou Kauffman, both of Bellefontaine, and a brother, Charles Earl Sheeley Jr. of Belle Center, Ohio.  Jean married George Carrol Forsythe Sr. December 29, 1981, and inherited three step-sons – George C. Forsythe of Russells Point, Ohio, John (Anne) Forsythe of Bellefontaine, and Michael Forsythe of Columbus, Ohio.  Jean is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Her husband George passed away May 26, 2013.

Jean had several jobs.  She was an assistant secretary at the First Christian Church, an assistant at Logan View, then the billing clerk for medical equipment at Logan View.  Jean also worked for F.N. Johnson Co. as a secretary, then she was the head of data material entry for the computer system.  Jean enjoyed playing cards at the Logan County Friendly Senior Center for many years.  She also enjoyed “Paint by Numbers” pictures, she had many but she gave most of them away to relatives and friends.

Jean was a member of the First Christian Church where she was a Deaconess, head of the CWF for several terms, head of the Prayer Blanket Ministry and head of the Outreach Team.  Jean enjoyed all aspects of life.  She loved all her friends and relatives.  She especially cared for her “Pepsi Pal” Paul who always took care of her.  No matter where, when, or how – he always was there, bless her “Male Angel.”

Rev. Kevin C. Greenwald will officiate Jean’s funeral service Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at noon at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.  Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at noon.

Burial will be at the East Liberty Cemetery.
