Jean Roach

Jean Roach, 91, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.

She was born October 23, 1920, in Huntsville, Ohio to the late Grant L. and Harva (Gartner) McCormick.

On October 26, 1945, she married Wallace E. Roach in Huntsville and he preceded her in death September 21, 2005. She was also preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Robert McCormick.

Surviving are her children, Robert Roach and Shirley Brunke both of Bellefontaine, a sister Barbara Springer of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A 1938 Huntsville High School graduate, she was a member of the Huntsville United Presbyterian Church. During the war, Jean worked for the Highway Department in Columbus and retired in 1983 from the Logan County Engineer’s office where she worked as an office clerk.

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine handled the arrangements and a private family service was held Wednesday, October 17, 2012 with Rev. Ben Beres and Rev. Russell D. Williams officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
