Jean. H. Shafer, 84, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008, in Mary Rutan Hospital.
Born on October 2, 1923, in Sandusky, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Helen Oswald Guckert.
She managed the snack bar at the former G.C. Murphy’s store in Bellefontaine for 20 years, loved to sew, crochet and work on crossword puzzles.
Survivors include sons, Charles (Joyce) Shafer of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Anthony Shafer of Bellefontaine; a daughter, Jarolyn (Anthony) Fazio of Spindale, North Carolina; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Donald Guckert of Bellefontaine, Lyle Guckert and Dee Herring, both of Columbus, and Diana (Phil) Sickles of Des Moines, Iowa.
Pastor Walt Mansfield will conduct a graveside service at 3 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2008, in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
