Jeff C. Shoemaker, 46, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away at 8:19 P.M. Saturday, November 21, 2009, as a result of an automobile accident on County Road 5 in Rushsylvania, Ohio. He was born in Urbana, Ohio, on January 20, 1963, a son of the late Tracy Shoemaker. His mother, Marietta Murray Shoemaker, survives in Cable, Ohio.
On January 30, 1988, he married the former Crista Wenger and she survives, along with daughter, Carrie Shoemaker; sons, Joshua and Jarrod Shoemaker; sisters, Priscilla Pratt of West Liberty and Joyce (Glenn) Griffin of Kingscreek, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
An infant sister, Karen Sue, preceded him in death.
He was owner and operator of Shoemaker Excavating, which he founded with his father, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He loved having cookouts with his family and spending time in the outdoors, especially doing excavating work and fishing.
Pastor Dick Barrett officiates a private service Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in West Liberty. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 P.M. November 24, 2009, at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial is in Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock Ohio.
