Jefferson "Jeff" Fredrick Sherrick

Jefferson Fredrick “Jeff” Sherrick, 64, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio. He was born on October 14, 1957, in Kenton, Ohio, a son of the late Paul David and Patricia Ann (Cole) Sherrick.

 

On May 4, 2011, Jeff married Cynthia Marie (Coy) Sherrick in Bellefontaine, Ohio and she survives along with his three children, Steven (Shae) Sherrick, Jenna Sherrick, and Erin Sherrick; four stepchildren, J Yelton, Rob (Jaime) Yelton, Brad (Ceci) Yelton, and Ben Yelton; two grandchildren, Summer Sims and Thea Marie Grace Sherrick; six step-grandchildren, Rayce Yelton, Coy Yelton, Jaycee Yelton, Levi Yelton, Blair Yelton, and Callie Yelton; two sisters, JoDene Carter and Amy (Eric) Esser; two brothers, Rick (Brooke) Sherrick and Robbie Sherrick; his two dogs, Poncho and Lefty; his granddog Jaxs; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Cliff and Millie Stinson; paternal grandparents, Paul and Doris Sherrick; a son, Michael Sherrick; and a nephew, James Wicker.

 

Jeff graduated from New Bremen High School in 1976, where he was the schools first 4-year football letter winner. He went on to play football for Defiance College. He was a retired car hauler having worked for Cassen’s Transport for several years. Jeff was an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR, and especially loved watching family members race at local speedways.

 

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

 

Memorial contributions may be made, in Jeff’s memory, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
