Jeffrey Dean Ray, 57, of Bellefontaine passed away Friday morning, April 8, 2016 at his home. He was born in Columbus on December 11, 1958 to Rex A and Sue Ray, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father Rex Ray, Sr., a sister Susan Calloway and his first wife, Sherri “Katie” Ray.
Jeff attended Groveport Madison High School and was a veteran of the US Army. He graduated with honors and received Associate degrees in Manufacturing and Management from Mesa Community College, Mesa, Arizona. Jeff worked as an associate at Honda Manufacturing – Marysville for nine years. Jeff enjoyed buying and selling antiques and collectibles. He attended Concordia Lutheran Church in Columbus and enjoyed studying and reading the Bible with his wife Bev.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Bev Ray, whom he married on September 18, 2004 in Columbus; daughter Gloria (Matthew) Smith of Ostrander; two grandchildren: Dean R. Smith and Riley Smith; mother Sue Peters of Columbus; brothers: Rex (Cindy) Ray, Jr. of Groveport and Tom Ray of Columbus; a sister Tammy (Jeff) Patterson of Canada; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine from 2:30 – 4:30pm followed by a Celebration of Life service at 4:30pm, with Chaplain Chantel Seiler officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
