Jeremiah Hoskins, 31, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 9:55 P.M. Friday, September 30, 2011, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. He was born in Bellefontaine October 19, 1979. He is survived by his mother Della (Henry Hatfield) Hoskins of Bellefontaine, and father Virgil Hoskins of New Carlisle, Ohio. On November 16, 2000, he married the former Amber Cordrey, and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Brian Gregory Hoskins; two sisters, Tylisha (Ryan Rose) Hoskins of Bellefontaine, and Samantha (Zackary) Brooker of Marion, Ohio; a brother, Thomas Richard Hoskins of Bellefontaine; aunts and uncles, Thomas W. Wickersham of West Liberty, Ohio, Debra Wilson, Paula Wickersham, Carol and Chuck Creger, and Betty Conrad, all of Bellefontaine, Ruth Dell, Mary Prater, Mary and Skip Thomson, Cordia Stewart, Clay and Lori Barnett, Leroy and Khristina Hatfield, and Roy and Alice Hoskins, all of Kentucky, Tinia and Mike Johnson of West Mansfield, Ohio, Orpha and Mike Saathoff, and Gail Hoskins, both of Nebraska; nieces and nephews, Timmy Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Jaxon Hoskins, Rylyn Rose-Hoskins, Ava Grace Brooker, Adison Brooker and Alanna Brooker; mother-in-law, Vickie Meyers of Huntsville, Ohio; father-in-law, Daryl (Beth) Cordrey of DeGraff, Ohio; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Nathan) Vanover of Marysville, Ohio; and brother-in-laws, Daryl Cordrey II and Ben Brown, both of DeGraff, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Thomas D. Wickersham, Martha J. Wickersham, Richard and Lovina Hoskins, and Richard Andrew Wickersham; and an uncle, Richard Hoskins.
Jeremiah worked as a general contractor and was a collector of swords, knives and dragons. He enjoyed playing pool, chess, basketball, video games, shooting guns and especially spending time with his son, nieces and nephews.
Pastor Steven Wyke will conduct the funeral service Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 1:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in Jeremiah’s memory may be made to the Logan County Cancer Society. The funeral arrangements were handled by the staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
