Biography

Jerome Craig Hicks, 34, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his home. He was born in Lima, Ohio April 16, 1979, to Clarke W. and Deborah S. (Klopfenstein) Hicks who both survive in Bellefontaine.

Jerome is also survived by his daughter, Teia Hicks of Bellefontaine; a son, Jerome Smith of Bellefontaine; sisters, Kerri (Alex) Arredondo of Findlay, Ohio and Nikki Hicks of Bellefontaine; his grandmother, Helen Klopfenstein of Bellefontaine; a niece, Mahailia “Hailie” Adams and close friends Brenda Lyburtus, Russell and Tammy Wampler.

Jerome was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Earl E. and Clarabelle Hicks Sr. and maternal grandfather, Karl E. Klopfenstein.

Jerome worked as an asphalt finisher at Chemcote in Marysville, Ohio and had been a stamped concrete finisher. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and tools. Jerome took great pride in his work and he loved his children.

The funeral service will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 6 P.M. with Pastor Jonathan Bull officiating. Calling hours will be held two hours prior to the funeral starting at 4 P.M. Interment will be at a later date at the Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio.
