Joan L. Pezzatta, age 89, of Columbus, Ohio, and formerly of Boardman, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Kobacker Hospice House in Columbus.
She was born November 29, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late James P. and Josephine (Green) Lombard. On November 7, 1945, she married James F. Pezzatta and he preceded her in death May 31, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her sister Patricia Vandenborg and her son-in-law, Paul Nugent.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Susan Nugent of Lynnfield, Massachusetts; two sons, James Donald “Donnie” (Adele) Pezzatta of Deatsville, Alabama and Theodore “Ted” (Amy) Pezzatta of Columbus; seven grandchildren, Don, Matthew, Michael, Adele, Jonathan, Katharine, and Phillip; five great grandchildren, Sammy, Victoria, Sara, Joseph, and Lexi; one sister, Alice Black of Bellefontaine, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Joan worked as the administrative secretary for the Youngstown Area Board of Realtors for many years and was a longtime member of the Bears Club. She also was a longtime parishioner of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Boardman.
A priest from the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church will officiate services at 12 noon Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in the cemetery chapel of the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Boardman.
The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
