Joan Lee Schultz, 84, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty.
She was born on June 25, 1925 in Defiance, Ohio, to the late Lester and Irma (Tate) Ensign. Also preceding her in death were two brothers.
On August 21, 1954, she married Ralph Schultz in Defiance, Ohio, and he survives along with a son, Stephen (Genie) Schultz of New Hyde Park, New York; two daughters, Susan (Robert) Kleine of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Sally (James) Robison of Radnor, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
A member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine, she was active with the Gideon’s International. She taught for nineteen years for the Bellefontaine City School system. She had an ardent interest in music, playing the piano and at one time, was the church organist. She also played the clarinet in the Logan County Community Concert Band from 1992 to 1997.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine, officiated by Rev. Kenneth J. Dady, Sr. and Pastor Jeffory Willetts.
