Joe Arthur Fisher

December 1, 1922 - October 24, 2015

Joe Arthur Fisher, 92, of West Liberty, passed away Saturday morning, October 24, 2015 at Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.

Joe was born in Logan County on December 1, 1922 to the late Freeman and Nellie (Detweiler) Fisher. He married the former M. Faye Fisher on August 22, 1944 in the Oak Grove Church, West Liberty and she preceded him in death on September 4, 2015. Joe was also preceded in death by a son Gary Fisher; sister, Mary Kay Regier; and a brother, Dale Fisher.

Joe is survived by daughters, Barbara George of Denver, Colorado and Brenda (David) Montgomery of Plain City; son, Dennis Fisher of Phillippi, West Virginia; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Byler of West Liberty; brothers, Lloyd Fisher of Phoenix, Arizona and Carl Fisher of Boswell, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was a 1941 graduate of DeGraff High School and was a member of South Union Mennonite Church. He retired from Whirlpool Corp. in Marion after 30 years of service and farmed in Logan County for many years.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Joe & Faye will be buried together in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Liberty at a later date.
