John C. Buckenroth Sr. 62, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Heartland of Bellefontaine. He was born in Bellefontaine on February 5, 1954 to the late Jack and Mary (Beer) Buckenroth.
On August 14, 1976, he married the former, Georgia Ament and she survives.
He is also survived by his sons, John (Tammy) Buckenroth Jr. of West Liberty, Joshua Buckenroth of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Joseph Buckenroth, Robert (Chelsea) Buckenroth, and “like sons” James Brown and Donta Johnson, all of Bellefontaine; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Mike) Turner and Jacki (Stephan) May, both of Bellefontaine; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A brother, Frank Buckenroth preceded him in death.
John was a 1972 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and was a “jack of all trades.” He enjoyed coaching baseball, bowling, and playing softball in his younger years. John loved watching football, especially the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed being with his family and his dogs, Max, Saddie, and Sophie.
Pastor Mike Roberts will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Church of the Brethren, 534 Detroit Street, Bellefontaine Ohio 43311. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine.
