John Harshbarger

John Joseph Harshbarger, 55, of Lakeview, Ohio, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, August 14, 2012. He passed away at Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Ohio.

He was born December 4, 1956, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Lloyd Joseph and Juanita “Dolly” Mae (Daines) Harshbarger. On July 1, 2005, he married the former Sandy Smith, and she preceded him in death December 16, 2006.

John is survived by his children, Jared Harshbarger and Jesica Meeker, both of Bellefontaine; his companion, Sue Cline of Lakeview; four sisters, Laura J. (Donald) Brown, Roxanne M. (Bill) Woodruff, both of Bellefontaine, Phyllis I. (Dave) Fairchild of Rushsylvania, Ohio and Deborah K. (Dan) Craig of West Mansfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Julian, Avery and Aidan Meeker and Layla Harshbarger, and many nieces and nephews.

John graduated in 1976 from Benjamin Logan School and attended the Hi-Point Joint Vocational School. He worked for Honda of America in Marysville for twenty nine years. He attended the Church of the Brethren in Bellefontaine and was a former member of the Bellefontaine Lions Club and a member of WKA Racing. He was an avid NASCAR and Ohio State Buckeye fan. John will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Friday, August 17, 2012, from 4 to 8 P.M. where Pastor Fred Clogg will officiate an 11:00 A.M. funeral service Saturday, August 18, 2012. Interment will be at the Rushsylvania Cemetery in Rushsylvania, Ohio.
