John W. Heintz, 91, of Jackson Center, joined the Heavenly Choir on July 5, 2016.
John was born October 10, 1924, to Edward and Luella (Linker) Heintz. He married Marie Engel on April 22, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, Ohio. John and Marie were blessed with 4 children: Patricia Brinkman, Washington Court House, Ohio; John (Laurie), Vincennes, Indiana; Marilyn (Dwight) Johnson and Linda Wilson both of Jackson Center, Ohio; 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren: Kathi (Kevin) Brown, Molly & Madeline and Matthew (Courtney) Brinkman, both of Columbus, Ohio; Amanda (Seth) Rooney, Aidan & Ethan, Fishers, Indiana; Brian Heintz, Vincennes, Indiana.
John was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Luella Heintz; brother & sister-in-law, Luther & Iva (Metz) Heintz; sister Marie Heintz Fogt; sister-in-law & brother-in law Ruth & Arthur Lange, brothers-in-law Harold Engel, Elmer Wagner, sister-in-law, Barbara Engel; and a special niece, Ann Fogt Bennett and family, Presque-Isle, Michigan.
John was a dairy farmer in Montra and member of Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center. He sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, Catechism mentor, brotherhood member and served in many other capacities. John loved being a member of the Luther League in his youth. John and Marie received the Century Farm Citation from the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. John was a member of the Ohio Dairy Producers Association and the Production Credit Board.
John was a very willing helper whose life was an expression of his love for his Lord. Never a night went by without devotions which he and Marie shared with children or friends who were present.
Pastor Kent Hollis will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, 607 S. Main Street, Jackson Center. Visitation will be Thursday, July 7th from 4-7 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, Ohio.
