John P. Bray I, age 73, of Kenton, Ohio, passed away at 12:13 A.M. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio March 2, 1941, to the late France J. and Cybelline (Thomas) Bray. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Debra Bray; a great granddaughter, Haylee Hampton; a sister, Pamela Bray, and a brother, Thomas Bray.
He is survived by his children, Casey (Teresa) Bray of Mertens, Texas, Lisa (William) Wilson of Mt. Victory, Ohio, Ohio, Katherine Linebaugh of Belle Center, Ohio, Pamela (Dean) Schneider of East Liberty, Ohio, Judy (Joe) Rea of West Mansfield, Ohio, John (Jessica) Bray II of Dayton, Ohio and Thomas Bray of Middletown, Ohio; nineteen grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Campbell of Huntsville, Ohio; two nieces, Sheryl and Kim Campbell, and a nephew, John Campbell.
John began his forty five year truck driving career with Midwest Trucking in Mt. Victory, Ohio and retired from Clark Trucking. He attended the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, and had previously attended the St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, Ohio. He enjoyed western music as he was talented in playing his guitar. He also enjoyed singing, gardening and spending time with his family.
Deacon Harold Dipple will officiate a memorial service at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Saturday. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
