John K. Krouse, 74, of Belle Center passed away Monday evening, March 2, 2015 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born in Logan County on March 22, 1940 to the late Homer and Florence (Drake) Krouse.
A member of the National Guard, John spent several years driving the Kindergarten bus for Belle Center schools and he had a milk route for many years. He retired from D.A.B. in Bellefontaine where he was a press operator. John was a member of the Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department for 25-plus years where he was awarded Fireman of the Year honors in 1987 and 1993.
He enjoyed working on puzzles, word searches and collecting die cast cars. John was known to ride around on his golf cart and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John and Dorothy attend the Freewill Baptist Church in DeGraff.
John is survived by his wife Dorothy (Williams) Krouse, whom he married on February 6, 1965 in Belle Center and they recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. He is also survived by children: Terry (Linda) Penny of Belle Center, Stephanie (Wes) Godwin of DeGraff and Gregory (Stephanie) Krouse of Bellefontaine; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sharon Brentlinger of DeGraff and Carol Arbogast of Bellefontaine; a brother Paul Krouse of Huntsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike Idle will officiate the funeral service on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:30am at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center where visitation will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4-7pm. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
