John Morgan

John J. Morgan, 83, of Bellefontaine passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 in Heartland of Bellefontaine.

He was born in Zanesfield, OH on July 8, 1933, the son of the late John Henry and Neoma (Grimes) Morgan.

On October 1, 1955 in West Liberty, OH, he married Marilyn L. (Miller) Morgan and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2008. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Marge Brison and Maxine Newland and a brother, Carl Smith.

He is survived by one son, Darin (Stephanie) Morgan of Bellefontaine and one daughter, Amy Smith of Bellefontaine, three grandchildren; Traiye (Danielle) Smith and Yvonne (Matt) Jacobs, all of Bellefontaine and Tia Smith of Columbus, four great grandchildren, two sisters; Mary Ann Downing of Bellefontaine and Dorothy “Dot” Lease of Hilliard, three brothers; Richard “Dick” Morgan of Urbana, Jim (Barb) Morgan of Waynesfield, and Danny Morgan of Bellefontaine and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was a member of the Episcopal Holy Trinity Church, Bellefontaine. He worked as a self-employed technician in the plumbing and heating field. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing.

No services are planned and burial will be together with his wife in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.
