John Peters Sr

John C. Peters, Sr., 69, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

He was born on November 13, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio, a son of the late Estelle and Mary Louise (Cross) Peters. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Brewer; two sisters and two brothers; daughter-in-law, Amanda Peters, sister-in-law, Shirley 'miss dip' Dipple and his dog, Rebel

On July 6, 1979 in Ridgeway, he married the former Martha Brewer and she survives along with a son, John Carl Peters Jr, of Bellefontaine; step-children, Stacey (Walter) Crawford and Jimmy (Ashley) Reed both of Bellefontaine, Veldora (Michael) Trout of Lewistown; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; sister-in-laws, Joan 'baby' Wiseman, Bev (Jim) Mees of Bellefontaine; Betty (Ronald) Young of NM; and brother in laws Jim (Donna) Brewer, Richard (Marie) Downing of Bellefontaine; longtime friend, Kenny Williams of Bellefontaine and many nieces and nephews.

A Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He retired from HBD Industries, Bellefontaine. He enjoyed fishing, his dogs, working on cars and working in his yard with his wife, Martha, keeping it pristine. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting with his family and keeping his truck cleaned and waxed.

Deacon Harold Dipple will officiate a 12 Noon funeral service on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 North Main Street, Bellefontaine where friends may call two hours prior. Military honors will be provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
