John M. Roberts

November 17, 1916 - July 25, 2012

John M. Roberts, 95 of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 11:56 P.M. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the Homestead at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born November 17, 1916 in Rushcreek Township, a son of the late Fred W. and Bertha (Ansley) Roberts. Also preceding him in death were 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sisters, Lucille and Helen Roberts and brothers, Paul and Harry Roberts.

On July 20, 1946 in Rushsylvania, Ohio he married the former Rachel Moore, who survives. They just celebrated their sixty sixth wedding anniversary.

He is also survived by children, J. Michael (Debbie) Roberts of West Liberty, Ohio, Jeanne (Rick) Marmon and Judy (Jim) Wolever both of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Mel (Deb) Roberts of Rushsylvania, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Fawcett of Rushsylvania, Ohio and numerous nieces & nephews.

John was an Army Veteran of World War II where he was a radio operator in the Pacific Theatre. A 1934 graduate of Rushsylvania High School, he was a lifelong farmer and attended the Walnut Grove Methodist Church. John was also a thirty six year Rushcreek Township Trustee and past member of the Belle Center American Legion.

Max Jackson and Daniel McCarty will conduct the funeral service at 11 A.M. Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
