John S. Sarson, age 59, of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, following a courageous fight with cancer. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 25, 1950, the son of Ronald S. Sarson, who survives in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and the late Ora Alice Chewning Sarson, who preceded him in death on July 7, 2008. John is also survived by sons; Ryan S. (Angela) Sarson of Troy, Ohio; Bradley J. Sarson of Huber Heights, Ohio; sister Carol Wapplehorst of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren, Cooper Wemmer, Aidyn Sarson and Hunter Sarson; one niece, one nephew, and three great nephews. A brother-in-law, Jerry Wapplehorst, also preceded him in death.
John was a retired United States Air Force Veteran, serving in the Vietnam and Desert Storm War, and served with the Air National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion and the National Hot Rod Association. John enjoyed driving his hot rod to car shows andbeing with his family.
Rev. Tim West will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Bellefontaine, where visitation is one hour prior to service. Then at 3:00 P.M., a military graveside service will be held at the Dayton National Cemetery.
