Jon S. Marquis Sr.

Jon S. Marquis Sr., age 80, of DeGraff, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

He was born in Bellefontaine March 29, 1941, to the late Forest and Irma (Raper) Marquis. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Monteith; a half-sister, Georgia Williams and a half-brother, James Dohse.

On June 16, 1962, he married Barbara (Brugh) Marquis and she survives in DeGraff. He is also survived by children: Jon Marquis Jr. of DeGraff, Doug (Linda) Marquis of Bellefontaine, Tim Marquis of DeGraff, and Cary (Kelly) Marquis of Quincy, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jon was the owner and operator of Marquis Pump Repair, was an officer at the Bellefontaine Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years, enjoyed working on his 1945 Ford truck and liked to camp.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the Springhills Cemetery in DeGraff.

A celebration of life will follow the graveside service at the Bellefontaine Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge for family and friends.

The staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff is honored to serve the Marquis family.
