Jonas Coblentz Jr

Biography

Jonas “Jony” Coblentz, Jr. 79, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at his home Wednesday, November 13, 2013 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Hartville, Ohio July 25, 1934, to the late Jonas and Lydia (Miller) Coblentz. He was also preceded in death by an infant son Marvin Coblentz, a sister, Mary Ann Miller, and brothers Atlee, Joe and Ben Coblentz.

Jony married the former Martha Troyer October 12, 1961, in Hartville and she survives in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by his children Paul (Diana) Coblentz of Hartville, JoAnna (Harlen) Helmuth of Bellefontaine, Steven Coblentz of Broadway, Virginia, Dan (Betty) Coblentz of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Nathan (Mary Sue) Coblentz of Logan, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; three sisters Iva Miller, Mattie Coblentz and Miriam Miller, all of Dover, Delaware; five brothers Freeman Coblentz of Dover, Delaware, Alvin (Martha) Coblentz of Farmington, Missouri, Dan (Clara) Coblentz of Lobelville, Tennessee, Henry (Ada) Coblentz of Etowah, North Carolina and Bill (Miriam) Coblentz of Advance, Missouri.

Jonas worked as a trim carpenter and was a member of the Belle Center Amish Church.

Visitation will be held at the Jonas’ residence 5451 Co. Rd. 25 N. in Bellefontaine Friday, November 15, 2013 from 2 to 8 P.M. and Saturday, November 16, 2013, from 1 to 8 P.M. Bishop David Yoder will conduct the funeral service Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 9:30 A.M. at the Mahlon Coblentz residence 7443 Co. Rd. 49 in Belle Center, Ohio. Interment will be in the Belle Center Amish Cemetery.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center assisted the family with the arrangements.
