Joseph K. King, 88, of Quincy passed away at 12:28 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at his home. He was born in West Liberty, Ohio on July 13, 1926 to the late Alva Jay and Lulu Marie (Kennan) King.
On July 10, 1949 he married Patsy Brewer, and she survives. He is also survived by his four children; Stephen King of Quincy and friend, Judy Gilfillen of Sidney, David King of Quincy, Mark (Susan) King of Sidney and Terri Roediger of Sidney; six grandchildren, Scott King of Columbus, Julie (Nathan) Frazee of Columbus, Emily (Chris) Herbette of Connecticut, Nick King of Sidney, Chris (Jess) King of Sidney and Beth (Austin) Kleman of Bryan; five great grandchildren, Wesley Frazee, Levi Frazee, Ethan King, Grant King and Trent King; two brothers, Philip (Cleo) King of Casstown and Ed (Judy) King of Eaton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorcas Hostetler; and a brother Paul King.
Joseph was a 1944 graduate of Harrison-Adams High School. He was a member of the Rosewood United Methodist Church, where he had sang with the Good News Guys. Most recently, he attended the Pemberton Methodist Church. He liked Belgian Horses and enjoyed listening to gospel music.
Pastor Don Burley will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty where friends may call on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, Ohio.
