Joseph Anthony Ollhoff, 22, of East Liberty passed away Monday, April 27, 2015. Joseph was born a celebrity as he was the “first baby to see in ‘93”, arriving on January 1, 1993. He was the Logan County New Year’s Baby.
He is survived by his father, Melvin (Ann) Ollhoff of Coshocton, Ohio and his mother, Diane (Brisson) Ollhoff of Bellefontaine; 10 siblings; Christine (Joseph) Schmidt of Marietta, Dominic (Julie) Ollhoff of Columbus, Cecilia (Andrew) King of DeGraff, Madonna (James) Taylor of West Liberty, Patrick (Tritny Bontrager) Ollhoff of Lockington, Hollee (John) Woodcock of Huntsville, Kathleen Ollhoff of DeGraff, Jessica Ollhoff of Franciscan University, Steubenville, Michael Ollhoff at home, Monica Ollhoff at home, his grandmother, Lillian Provow of West Plains, Missouri, and a close family friend, Billy Ganson of Quincy. Joseph always showed immense love for all children, especially for his nieces and nephews; Felicity, Gianna, Jonathan, and Therese Schmidt, Noah & Miriam Ollhoff, Noah Taylor, Parker, Jameson, & Carly Ollhoff, and Dixie & John Woodcock V.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Ollhoff in 2001.
Joseph’s love of music was inspired by Kris “KT” Buchenroth, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by a long-time family friend, Dave “Grandpa” Doss. Additionally he is preceded in death by a close friend, Megan Smith.
He was active with Center Stage Productions (home school drama club), His Hands Choir (sign language choir), and Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew 94. He was also deeply involved in the 4-H Program and the Logan County Junior & Senior Fair Board. He was a life member of the Logan County Fair, where he served as 2011 Fair King.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at First Church of God, 1000 East Brown, Bellefontaine with Deacon Robert Crook officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine. Interment will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
