Josephine V. Taylor, 97, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at her home. She was born in Marysville, Ohio January 20, 1915, to the late Jesse and Eva (Lyman) Turner.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Lynn Warwick. In 1959 she married Clarence Taylor in Bellefontaine, and he preceded her in death April 17, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Turner and sisters, Almeda Riddle and Minnie Rogan.
Josephine worked as a caregiver for Logan County Children’s Services and will be remembered by people in Logan County for her numerous years as a child care provider. She was the oldest living member of the Auburn Avenue Baptist Church and was the last remaining member of the 12 Sisters Club.
Josephine is survived by her sons, Gerald Warwick of Manheim, Germany, Lynn Warwick Jr. and Bill Stevens, both of Bellefontaine; 6 grandchildren, David and Matthew Warwick, Billy, James, Cristina and Jesse Stevens; 2 step-grandchildren, Scott Benton and Carlos Fisher; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 3 to 6 P.M. Pastor Settle W. Townsend, Jr. will officiate the 12:00 noon funeral service Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Auburn Avenue Baptist Church in Bellefontaine with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
