Joyce Ann Hammond

Joyce Ann Hammond, 73, of DeGraff, passed away peacefully at 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at her home. She was born in Piqua, Ohio on May 10, 1949, a daughter of the late Lester and Laura (Siegenthaler) Brecount.

On September 27, 1968, Joyce married Steven Hammond in DeGraff, Ohio and he survives, along with their two children, Stephanie (Anthony “AJ”) Jackson, and Steven Mark Hammond; four granddaughters, Riley Ann Jackson, Kennedy Nichole Jackson, Avery Grace Jackson, and Hadley Selene Jackson; two sisters, Janet Kies, and June (Scott) Adkins; a brother-in-law, Gary Lee Goings; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Longbrake, and Linda Goings; and two brothers-in-law, Chuck Longbrake, and Kenneth “Plute” Kies.

Joyce was a true homemaker always taking care of her family and placing others needs before her own. She was caring, supportive, and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and attending all their events and activities.

The family would like to express there sincere gratitude to Universal Home Health and Hospice, especially her nurse Donna, and Joyce’s private caregivers, Jen, Jenny, and Melissa for the exceptional care they provided to Joyce over the years.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
