Joyce Kauffman-Beard

Biography

Joyce A. Kauffman-Beard, 74, of West Liberty and formerly of DeGraff passed away at
9:01 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born in Jackson Center, Ohio on October 25, 1940 to the late Ronald and Geraldine (Clay) Elliott.

She married Donald Richard Kauffman and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1992. She later married Carl Beard, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2013.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Tina (Terry) Purtee of Quincy; four step-children, Barbara (Kenny) King, Larry Kauffman, Denise Adams and Lisa (Kevin) James; three grandchildren, Trinity (Mike) King of West Union, Ohio, Jason Purtee and Jeremy “Buck” (Rebekah) Purtee, both of DeGraff; six step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren Landon Purtee, Chloe Purtee and Garrett Purtee; a sister, Nancy (Joe) Zimmerman of Georgia; a brother, Gary (Phyllis) Elliott of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Arthur Baugh and two sisters.

Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and playing cards.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
